The disturbing Diddy abuse allegations against Cassie are piling up fast as his sex trafficking trial in New York takes a dark turn.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, has been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura repeatedly, with multiple witnesses sharing shocking testimony about his violent behavior.
In Monday’s courtroom bombshell (May 19), singer Dawn Richard, 40, took the stand and detailed what she says she saw firsthand while working closely with Combs. According to Dawn, who was once a member of Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money, Diddy allegedly dragged, punched, and kicked Cassie multiple times between 2009 and 2011. “He would drag her and kick her and punch her in the mouth,” she told the jury, claiming the violence usually happened when Cassie dared to stand up for herself.
Dawn said that Combs didn’t like when his inner circle spoke to Cassie. “Mr. Combs didn’t like that we talked to Cassie, and oftentimes we would pay for it,” she explained. And the control didn’t stop there. She testified that Combs treated Cassie like property, saying things like, “When I’m ready for you, you’ll do it.” It was always on his terms.
In one particularly disturbing moment, Dawn recalled an incident where Cassie came into the bathroom crying after being punched by Combs. “You could see she was upset. Like, she was hurt,” she said. Dawn also testified that other employees of Bad Boy Records, including Harve Pierre, saw the abuse happen but stood by and said nothing.
The accusations kept coming. Dawn claimed that during a drive back to L.A., Diddy slapped Cassie in the mouth and told her to “shut the f*** up.” The entire car ride was silent after that.
Another witness, Kerry Morgan, 39, a former close friend of Cassie’s, testified on the same day. She described two separate incidents in L.A. where Combs allegedly turned violent. In one case, Cassie and Kerry were so terrified, they hid on the front steps of strangers’ homes for nearly 30 minutes while Combs and his bodyguard Reuben circled the neighborhood looking for them.
Dawn met Combs during MTV’s Making the Band in 2004, where she later signed to his label and joined Danity Kane. She said she witnessed a violent outburst in 2009 at Diddy’s mansion, all over breakfast. “He came downstairs angry and was saying, ‘Where the f**k were his eggs?’” she testified. What followed was even more disturbing, Dawn said Combs tried to hit Cassie with a skillet and continued to punch and kick her, targeting her body and head.
These chilling Diddy abuse allegations are part of a broader, high-profile trial where the music mogul faces federal charges, including sex trafficking. This trial comes months after multiple lawsuits were filed against him, including one by Dawn herself in September 2024. In her civil suit, she accused Combs of sexual abuse, claiming he assaulted her several times, including once in a changing room where he allegedly touched her and made crude comments about her body.
Diddy’s legal team, of course, denies everything. His attorney, Erica Wolff, dismissed Dawn’s lawsuit in an interview with Page Six, saying she had “manufactured a series of false claims” in hopes of cashing in while promoting her album.
But these latest court testimonies, combined with the infamous 2016 CCTV footage that showed Combs viciously beating Cassie in a hotel, are painting a brutal picture of a man once known as a hip-hop icon. That video resurfaced recently and sent shockwaves across social media, further fueling the public’s outrage.
The trial is expected to last about two months, and with more witnesses lined up, it’s clear that the Diddy abuse allegations are far from over. Whether or not justice is served, these deeply disturbing stories have already changed how many view the man who once ruled the music industry.
