Stars Hollow was brought to life in Tinseltown as Lauren Graham, who is famous for her portrayal of Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, was awarded a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood on Friday, October 3.
The 58-year-old actress was awarded the 2,823rd star in the TV category at the emotional ceremony which was hosted by Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
Several familiar faces from the beloved series reunited for Graham’s big day. In the audience were her on-screen mother Kelly Bishop, who played Emily Gilmore, and Scott Patterson, who brought Luke Danes, the diner owner and Lorelai’s love interest, to life. Also attending was Matt Czuchry, remembered for portraying one of Rory Gilmore’s ex-boyfriends. Along with them, several producers and writers of the iconic show were present to celebrate Graham’s career.

Gilmore Girls initially aired for seven seasons between October 2000 and May 2007, winning the hearts of viewers with the life of single mother Lorelai and her daughter Rory, played by Alexis Bledel, in the eccentric Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. The show was appealing because of its clever dialogue, warm relationships, and engaging characters. Almost ten years later, fans were treated to a four-part revival miniseries, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which was released on Netflix in 2016.
Even though Alexis Bledel wasn’t in attendance at the Walk of Fame ceremony, she and Graham were seen together just a few weeks prior at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in September, another special reunion for longtime fans.
At the ceremony, Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez lauded Graham’s contributions to television, stating, “Her charm, wit, and talent have made her an icon for audiences around the globe, and her performance as Kitty on Gilmore Girls has made its mark indelibly on television history. We are honored to recognize her remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry.” The recognition is also timely as October celebrates the 25th anniversary of the premiere of the series, making the tribute even sweeter.

Looking back on her relationship with Lorelai Gilmore earlier this year, Graham revealed to PEOPLE that the character hit her in a way that few others had. Speaking at PaleyFest L.A., she said, “It hit me like a boyfriend. To be honest, it was kind of like a connection that I felt like I was so attached to it right away, and also, ‘Everyone else get out of my way,’ which is not a feeling I often felt.”. I just felt understood. I felt like I knew this, and it knew me.”
Beyond her TV icon status, Graham lights up the big screen as well. She appeared in the latest films Twinless with Dylan O’Brien and James Sweeney. Her forthcoming feature Reminders of Him is to open on March 13, showing her talent and versatility are as much alive as ever.
