Golden Bachelor alum Gerry Turner is officially off the market again.
The 74-year-old reality star announced his engagement to his girlfriend, Lana Sutton, just 15 months after finalizing his divorce from ex-wife Theresa Nist.
Turner shared the exciting news on Instagram on Friday, October 3, posting a series of sweet photos of the couple enjoying a beach day together. In one picture, Sutton proudly shows off her sparkling round-cut diamond engagement ring with a diamond-encrusted band. Turner captioned the post, “We’ve got BIG news. The Golden Bachelor is OFF the market. I found my perfect match and she said ‘YES’. I love this woman.”
The engagement news comes after months of speculation about Turner’s new romance. Sutton, who has been sharing glimpses of their adventures on social media, recently posted about a trip they took to Canada. “Had a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls on the Canada side! Loved every moment with @goldengerryturner! Oh Canada 🇨🇦,” she captioned the post, which showed the couple smiling with the falls in the background.
In April, Turner revealed to PEOPLE that he and Sutton had been traveling together frequently since they began dating in March. “We’ve traveled somewhere new pretty much every weekend since we started dating,” he shared, listing destinations such as North Carolina, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. “Her level of adventure and mine are very similar,” Turner added, noting how their shared love of exploration brought them closer.
This new engagement marks a fresh start for Turner following his much-publicized relationship and marriage to Golden Bachelor winner Theresa Nist. Turner and Nist, who captured hearts on the hit ABC spinoff in 2023, tied the knot in a televised ceremony in January 2024 at the La Quinta Resort and Club in California, officiated by franchise favorite Susan Noles.
However, their marriage was short-lived. The couple announced their split just 10 months later in November 2024, citing distance as one of the main reasons. Turner lived in Indiana, while Nist resided in New Jersey. In a podcast interview shortly after the breakup, Nist hinted that there was more to their separation than geography, saying, “You really can’t know somebody in four weeks. I’ll just say that. It wasn’t just the location thing.”
Despite the heartbreak, Turner appears to have found happiness again with Sutton. Their shared sense of adventure and companionship has been a bright spot for Turner, especially after his recent health battle.
In December 2024, Turner revealed that he had been diagnosed with an “incurable” but “slow-growing” form of bone cancer. Yet, he remains positive about his prognosis. Speaking on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast in April, Turner shared, “I feel great. Until I have any symptoms, there’s no treatment. I go frequently for blood tests, and I feel optimistic.”
His doctor’s confidence in his long-term health has encouraged him to keep living life fully, something he clearly intends to do with Sutton by his side.
With their engagement now official, fans of The Golden Bachelor are thrilled to see Turner embracing a new chapter of love and hope. His journey has been full of twists – from reality TV romance to a public divorce and now a heartfelt new beginning – but it seems Gerry Turner has finally found his happy ending.
