Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals She’s Had Enough of the Paleo Diet

Gwyneth Paltrow is officially “sick” of the Paleo diet after sticking to it for years. The 52-year-old actress and her husband, Brad Falchuk, embraced the restrictive caveman diet a few years ago, but now she’s had enough. Instead of sticking to her usual routine of coffee for breakfast, bone broth for lunch, and vegetables for dinner, Gwyneth is welcoming sourdough bread, cheese, and pasta back into her diet.

She recently confessed her shift in food choices during an interview with Eden Confidential. “Brad and I became Paleo a few years ago now, although I’m a little bit sick of it, if I’m honest,” Gwyneth shared. “I’m getting back into eating sourdough bread and cheese, there, I said it. A little pasta after being strict with it for so long.”

Before her diet change, Gwyneth revealed she had also incorporated intermittent fasting into her routine, saying she would eat dinner early, fast until noon, and typically have coffee in the morning to avoid spiking her blood sugar. She’s a fan of soup for lunch, with bone broth being a staple on many days, followed by vegetables for dinner.

Though the diet worked well for her, Gwyneth admitted it wasn’t an everyday thing. “It’s really just what has worked for me, and it’s been very powerful and very positive. This is not to say I eat this way all day, every day. I eat far more than bone broth and vegetables,” she said. “I also have a lot of days of eating whatever I want. You know, eating French fries and whatever.”

Interestingly, Gwyneth has been open about using her diet to address her health, specifically to combat high levels of inflammation she believes stem from long COVID. She worked with Dr. Will Cole to focus on non-inflammatory foods like cooked vegetables, proteins, and healthy carbs. This approach has been helping her manage inflammation, and, by her own admission, it’s been “working really well.”

But now, it’s clear that Gwyneth is done with the rigid restrictions of Paleo. While she still values eating healthy most of the time, she’s embracing a more balanced approach to food and enjoying a little pasta and sourdough bread without guilt.
