Hailee Steinfeld is trading bridal gowns for blood-soaked corsets, at least for now.
The 28-year-old star – Hailee Steinfeld, who got engaged to NFL quarterback Josh Allen last November in a swoon-worthy oceanside proposal, says wedding planning is on the backburner while she promotes her new horror flick Sinners. And honestly? She’s kind of loving the chaos.
“We are in the middle of a press tour. We got a movie coming out in 12 days? Six, something,” Hailee laughed in an interview with Extra. “We’re focused on that.”
Sinners, a 1930s-set gothic horror with a bite (literally), sees Hailee Steinfeld stepping into the role of Mary, a Southern vampire with a dark past and even bloodier intentions. The film also stars Michael B. Jordan, and it’s not just the fangs and fog machines that had Hailee feeling things.
“I learned so much about myself through Mary,” she shared. “And even more about my family. I had the most amazing talks with my mom about her side of the family, especially my grandfather, who was half Black. I wish he were here to ask questions.”
Of course, playing an undead creature of the night wasn’t all emotional introspection.
“It was so fun,” Hailee gushed. “Very intense, of course, covered in blood, night shoots, bugs everywhere, but a total blast. We had the most incredible team.”
As for her wedding? No Pinterest boards just yet.
While fans are still obsessing over the stunning engagement announcement, complete with flower arches, ocean views, and enough candles to light up Malibu, Hailee insists she’s soaking in every moment before diving into planning.
She even opened up in her Beau Society newsletter, admitting: “All the happy tears have just barely dried. Whenever we say ‘We’re engaged’ or ‘We’re getting married,’ I start crying again.”
For now, though, she’s got her eyes on the big screen, not the aisle. And judging by the buzz around Sinners, that choice is already paying off.
Whether she’s slaying the red carpet or a horde of cinematic vampires, Hailee Steinfeld is proving she can juggle romance, horror, and high-stakes Hollywood like a pro, wedding bells can wait.
