Hailee Steinfeld is discovering the beauty of slowing down – and it’s thanks to her husband Josh Allen.
The Sinners actress opened up about how marriage to the Buffalo Bills quarterback has taught her to appreciate balance and downtime, something she previously never had time for.
In a frank interview with Variety published Oct. 3, the Oscar-nominated actress revealed how life with Josh has altered her views on work, love, and vacations. “What we do is so inconsistent, and his work is on such a tight schedule,” Hailee revealed. “So it’s really a blessing, I try to manage my time so I can be where he is.”
Hailee, 28, and Josh, 29, wed in May after dating for two years. Since then, the pair have learned to harmonize their differing worlds – her unpredictable shoot schedule and his strict NFL regimen. With the Buffalo Bills now well into their 2025 regular season, Hailee has been gladly taking advantage of some downtime to be there for her husband.
This time of year, I get to slow down, hunker down, support him and enjoy life,” she said. “When the offseason comes around, it’s go-time for me.
For the actress and singer, this balance is something entirely new. Having been in the spotlight since her teenage years, Hailee admitted that taking a step back from work didn’t come naturally. “I’ve never lived this part of life before, outside of my work,” she confessed. “I’ve gotten a lot better at understanding what it means to slow down and to share that with someone.”
Hailee went on to explain this new balance as one of the greatest aspects of her marriage. “That’s the greatest thing ever,” she said smiling about the stability and relationship she has with Josh.
And it appears the sentiment is reciprocated. Josh Allen, who has ranked as one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks over the last few years, has spoken just as loudly about how much Hailee is to him. At a June 10 press conference, the athlete referred to marrying Hailee as “the most important decision” he’s ever made, and with a smile, added, “I made the right one.
Josh also complimented his wife’s steadfast encouragement in a December interview with the Associated Press, stating, “When I get home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. She’s just the best.”
Their romance has swiftly become one of the most beloved celebrity couples, with Hollywood glamour and sports-world devotion blended together. For Hailee, the new set of priorities has introduced a nice dose of serenity. Even as her career bursts with vibrancy, she’s discovered happiness in cheering from the sidelines – showing that sometimes love can teach even the most busy stars how to stop and breathe.
