After weeks of speculation and mounting fan theories, Halle Berry has finally crushed dreams of a Storm comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a quick but clear statement during an interview with ‘Extra’, the Oscar-winner confirmed: “Nope!” when asked if she’d reprise her iconic role.
Yes, that’s right-Berry is officially closing the chapter on Marvel, even as ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ preps for a massive multiverse crossover that already features the return of several original X-Men stars. But Berry? She’s moving on.
Instead, she’s now front and center in Amazon’s slick new thriller Crime 101, starring opposite none other than Chris Hemsworth-aka Thor himself. And if you thought Marvel had big energy, wait until you see the fire these two bring to the screen.
Berry called the experience “one of the best film sets I’ve ever worked on,” adding that the gentlemen on the production were actual gentlemen – a rare find in Hollywood, she noted. Coming from someone who’s worked on mega-franchises, that’s saying a lot.
Hemsworth echoed her praise, teasing Crime 101 as a cerebral-meets-high-octane ride in the style of Heat and The Thomas Crown Affair. “It intersects three different characters from very different walks of life who cross paths… There’s some amazing car chases… it’s something we’re very proud of,” he said.
So while Halle Berry’s Storm won’t be controlling the weather in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster, she’s clearly not slowing down. She’s swapping mutant powers for high-stakes drama, speeding vehicles, and a partnership with one of the MCU’s biggest stars – just not in the MCU.
And for those still hoping for a surprise multiverse cameo? Looks like it’s time to let that lightning bolt dream fade. Halle Berry has spoken.
