Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan is very much alive and recovering, despite some wild rumors claiming he’s on his deathbed.
The 71-year-old WWE Hall of Famer, known for his larger-than-life persona in and out of the ring, was recently hospitalized due to lingering neck and back issues, but his rep insists there’s “no reason to panic.”
The speculation kicked off after YouTuber Bubba The Love Sponge blurted out during a live stream that Hogan “might not make it.” That immediately set off alarm bells for fans across the globe. But Hogan’s team quickly cleared the air. A rep told E! News on June 18 that while Hulk has indeed faced serious health challenges, including a recent neck surgery, the operation was successful, and he’s currently recovering.
Hulk Hogan health rumors aren’t exactly new. The former wrestling superstar, real name Terry Gene Bollea, has been incredibly open about the physical toll wrestling has taken on his body over the years. On an episode of Jake Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast last year, he shared that he’s had around 25 surgeries in the past decade alone. That includes ten back surgeries, both knees and hips replaced, and work on his shoulders. The guy’s practically a cyborg at this point.
Back in May, Hogan’s rep had already mentioned to TMZ that he needed a “little fusion procedure,” downplaying the seriousness of the situation even then. But that didn’t stop the internet from jumping to conclusions once Bubba’s stream started gaining traction.
And while fans worried about his condition, the WWE legend is apparently still going strong. He’s been keeping a relatively low profile lately, having married Sky Daily in 2023. He was previously married to Linda Hogan and Jennifer McDaniel, and he shares two kids, Brooke and Nick Hogan, with Linda.
Speaking of family, things haven’t been too peachy on that front. Just a few months ago, his daughter Brooke Hogan got real about their rocky relationship. In a March 27 Instagram post, she said she had no contact with either of her parents and called their behavior “more painful than their absence.” Yikes. She shared how hard she tried to mend things, only to be met with disappointment over and over again. Hulk hasn’t publicly responded to the family drama, but the post definitely turned heads.
So while it’s true that Hulk Hogan has battled serious health issues, and even needed another surgery recently, the deathbed claims were way off. According to his team, he’s stable, recovering, and not going anywhere anytime soon.
