John Mayer and social media influencer Kat Stickler are seeing each other – but it’s nothing too serious just yet.
According to an exclusive source from Us Weekly, the 47-year-old musician and 30-year-old content creator began dating recently after connecting online.
“John sought her out and pursued her,” the insider revealed. “Kat just broke up with someone she had been dating for a few months and thought it would be fun to date again, and she was interested in John.”
The source added that while the pair’s relationship is still in the early stages, they have been out together several times. “He has been actively pursuing her, inviting her places, and texting her often,” they said. “She is interested and seeing where it goes.”
However, Stickler reportedly isn’t looking for anything too deep at the moment. “She doesn’t think this will be a serious relationship,” the insider explained, “but she’s having fun.”
The pair were first spotted publicly on October 12, dining together at Fly Fish in New York City, as seen in a photo published by celebrity gossip platform DeuxMoi.
Their budding romance follows Kat’s recent breakup with Bachelor Nation alum Jason Tartick in October 2024. Tartick announced the split in an emotional Instagram Story, writing, “It’s fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life that works out and other times, it doesn’t. This time it didn’t.”
He continued, “Kat has brought me so much happiness and light, she brought out parts of me I never knew existed. I will forever be grateful for her and, of course, [her daughter] sweet MK. This chapter closes amicably, and another opens.”
Kat, who shares daughter MK with her ex-husband Mike Stickler, later addressed the breakup on her own platform, calling it “not love wasted.” Months later, Tartick reflected on the split during an episode of his Trading Secrets podcast, saying it was “so abrupt” and “so unexpected.”
“Then what I was hearing – these things I’m hearing publicly about speculation of what happened – I’m just sitting in my house pulling my hair out,” Tartick said. “That was a really tough month. A really, really, really hard month.”
As for Mayer, the Grammy-winning artist has a well-documented romantic history. Over the years, he’s been linked to high-profile stars including Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. Although he has never been married, Mayer revealed in 2024 that marriage is definitely something he wants in the future.
“I’ve never told anyone this – people don’t think I want to be married. I absolutely want to be married,” he said on Kelly Rizzo’s Comfort Food podcast. “You know the secret, which is that I’m actually fairly well-adjusted. I so badly want to get married if only for my wife to just know in her heart, like, ‘John will know what to do.’”
He added that the idea of being dependable in a marriage deeply appeals to him. “That level of being relied on is the hottest thing in the world to me,” he shared. “‘If my husband was here, he would know what to do. Call John.’ You’re a full-grown adult when that’s your romantic fantasy.”
While it remains to be seen where things go between Mayer and Stickler, it seems both are enjoying their time together. For now, their chemistry is more about connection and fun than lifelong plans – and fans will be keeping a close eye on how this new Hollywood pairing unfolds.
