JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes might just be the cutest “platonic soulmates” to come out of Celebrity Big Brother. After the show ended on Friday night, JoJo split from her partner, Kath Ebbs , but she’s made it clear that while she and Chris have a deep bond, it’s not romantic right now.
Appearing on This Morning, JoJo gushed, “Obviously, we’re close; we’re tight.” Chris backed her up, explaining, “It’s a really strong bond between two people. You can have a soulmate friendship , it’s different from your normal friendships, but it’s still a friendship.” He added that having someone to lean on during emotional highs and lows in the house made the experience even more special.
JoJo didn’t shut the door on future possibilities, though, saying, “Life is life, and I don’t know any future of anything.” She called Chris “a great guy” and said she’s just grateful for the bond they share.
Talking about her split from Kath, JoJo revealed she knew just three days into the show that something had to change. She explained that being isolated from her usual world made her realize she had accepted things she shouldn’t have, including in her relationship. “From that point on, I really realized things that I was OK with that I should never have been OK with,” she admitted.
JoJo also confirmed Kath’s earlier comments that their breakup happened at the show’s wrap party but insisted it wasn’t planned. Originally, Kath wasn’t going to attend but changed their mind an hour into the party. JoJo said she had been planning to talk to Kath beforehand, but when they showed up, it all came out. “They straight up asked me if I was happy, and I said no,” JoJo said, adding that the conversation just naturally unfolded from there.
Even though it’s been tough, JoJo said she feels good about where she’s landed. “It’s been hard, but it’s been good. I’m very happy with where I am now,” she shared, giving a special shoutout to Chris for being her emotional support even without knowing everything she was going through inside her head.
For now, JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are just soulmates , but hey, who knows what the future might bring?
