The Dawson’s Creek star, now 46, opened up about his longtime connection with Katie Holmes, revealing that despite not talking regularly, their relationship still runs deep. Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes dated back in the late ’90s during the early days of Dawson’s Creek, and now almost 30 years later, he says that connection is still very much there.
Speaking on the Dinner’s On Me podcast with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Joshua got real about where he stands with Katie. He explained that while they’re not texting every week, or even every six months, the emotional bond between them hasn’t gone anywhere. “Katie and I are very close,” he said. “It’s not a daily call… but when you’re together, there’s always that, like, I know you know.”
He talked about how filming Dawson’s Creek created intense connections with his co-stars because of everything they went through together—the highs, the lows, and all the messy in-betweens. According to Joshua, no one really gets you quite like the people you went through all that with, especially in those chaotic, early fame years. He even joked that it’s like being family, complete with the “I love you” moments and the “don’t talk to me” ones.
