Baldoni Prepares Legal Action Against Lively Amid Accusations
The drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively just got messier. Baldoni, known for directing and starring in It Ends with Us, is planning to sue Lively after she accused him of sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment.
Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, confirmed the move in an interview with NBC.
What’s the Lawsuit About?
Blake Lively filed a complaint on December 20, 2024, with California’s civil rights department. She accused Baldoni of inappropriate behavior, like entering her dressing room without permission while she was breastfeeding and making comments about her weight. She also claimed he fostered a hostile work environment and led a smear campaign to damage her reputation.
Baldoni didn’t waste time responding. He denied all the accusations and is now fighting back. Freedman said they’re ready to release every text exchanged between Baldoni and Lively during the production. “We’ll make the truth public,” Freedman told NBC.
Escalating Legal Battles
This isn’t Baldoni’s first legal move since the accusations came to light. On December 31, he filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against the New York Times, accusing the paper of spreading false information about him. The lawsuit targets Lively’s claims reported by the outlet, as well as its portrayal of Baldoni’s actions on set.
Hollywood is divided. Some support Lively for speaking out, while others question the timing and validity of her claims. Baldoni’s decision to sue has sparked debates about public figures airing their disputes in court versus behind closed doors. The case has become a hot topic, with both sides gathering allies.
As both lawsuits progress, all eyes are on the evidence each side will bring forward. Baldoni seems confident his texts will clear his name, while Lively has yet to comment on the countersuit. Either way, this legal fight isn’t ending anytime soon.
