The Kardashians are expanding their reality TV world with a brand-new series that will give fans insight into the personal lives of those closest to them. Khloé Kardashian announced this upcoming project, titled Calabasas Behind the Gates, at Hulu’s first-ever Get Real House event on April 22.
Khloé, who’s known for keeping things fresh and exciting, teased the new reality show, saying it’s “very exciting, very new, very excellent”-a teaser that made fans curious about what that entails. The show will follow the lives of those who move in the close circle of the famous Kardashian clan: their friends, their neighbors, and their extended circle. Think of this as a deep dive into a world behind the gates of Calabasas, where the Kardashians have become household names.
Although the show’s exact details are still being kept secret, at the event, Hulu executive Rob Mills added several intriguing hints: “We all want to know what’s happening behind the gates of Calabasas-who are all these people in the extended lives of the Kardashians?” This means that the series will underline the relationships and interactions with the inner circle of the Kardashian family.
Khloé, never one to leave fans in the dark about anything, refused to say whether her famous siblings would appear on the spin-off series. She did wish for one sibling’s return to reality TV, though: her brother Rob Kardashian. Rob has made very few appearances in recent years and even popped up in some rare family shots over Easter, which Khloé used as an opportunity to poke fun at his possible return to The Kardashians series.
Other fun tidbits Khloé shared include her insight into how the Kardashians manage their shows. She shared that she and her family get paid equally and have full creative control over the content that airs. She even shared that they cut out any “vanity things” from their episodes, although she joked about one embarrassing moment from Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2010, when she filmed a “sexy” video for her then-husband Lamar Odom.
As for Calabasas Behind the Gates, it doesn’t have an official release date yet, but with the buzz surrounding it, there’s no doubt the fans are going to enjoy yet another wild ride into the Kardashian world.
