Reality TV just got a little cuter, Kristen Doute and fiancé Luke Broderick have officially become parents! The Valley star welcomed a baby girl named Kaia Lily on June 11 and couldn’t be more in love with the tiny human who’s already changed everything.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Kristen was glowing (and maybe a little sleep-deprived) as she shared, “She’s here, and we still can’t believe it. Luke is even hotter as a dad, and I just feel so lucky.”
It’s been a long and emotional road to get here. Kristen, 40, has been open about her previous miscarriage in 2023, and her pregnancy journey since then has been filled with hope, hormones, and a lot of heart. After deciding to start trying again in early 2024, she and Luke turned to fertility treatments for support, including hormone shots and IUI. And surprisingly, it worked the first time. “In my heart, I knew it had worked,” Kristen said. “I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT results staring back at me.”
Luke’s reaction? Pure joy. He wasn’t surprised, but he was thrilled. The couple had prepared themselves for a long haul, but luck, or maybe love, was on their side. The baby girl news also caught Kristen off guard. “I was so convinced we were having a boy,” she admitted. But Kaia Lily was meant to be.
The name Kaia means “the sea” in Hawaiian, which holds special meaning for the couple since Hawaii was where they got engaged in September. As for “Lily,” it’s Kristen’s favorite flower and symbolizes new beginnings and gentle, caring energy, exactly the kind of vibes they’re hoping to bring into their little family’s life.
Kristen and Luke, who started dating in 2022, aren’t just adjusting to parenthood, they’re also prepping for marriage. But for now, their focus is all on Kaia. “Even though I haven’t slept or showered in two days,” Kristen joked, “seeing our daughter and finally being able to hold her makes it all worth it.”
Back in November, she shared the moment she found out she was pregnant with fans and spoke openly about how scary the process was after experiencing loss. On her podcast Sex, Love, and What Else Matters, she didn’t shy away from talking about how miscarriage made her question everything. “It’s really f–king terrifying because you always think, ‘What’s wrong, what did I do wrong?’” she said at the time. But with guidance from doctors and support from her inner circle, she made peace with what had happened, and geared up for a new beginning.
Now, that new beginning is here, wrapped in tiny blankets and cooing sounds. Kristen may have traded late nights at SUR for late-night diaper changes, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. This is just the beginning for Kristen, Luke, and baby Kaia, and they’re soaking up every minute of it.
