Michael B. Jordan’s “Thomas Crown Affair” Remake Locks 2027 Release Date

Michael B. Jordan is taking on the iconic role of Thomas Crown in the upcoming remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.

Scheduled for release on March 5, 2027, the film will hit theaters and IMAX screens, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jordan, who is also directing, will star alongside Taylor Russell, a rising star who won the role after a lengthy casting process, including meetings and a screen test with Jordan himself.

The new film is produced by Michael B. Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society, in collaboration with Elizabeth Raposo, and will follow the storylines set by the original 1968 movie and its 1999 remake. The 1968 classic starred Steve McQueen as Thomas Crown, a wealthy businessman who masterminds a bank heist, with Faye Dunaway playing Vicki Anderson, the investigator trying to track him down. The 1999 remake flipped the script with Pierce Brosnan as a rich playboy involved in a sophisticated art theft, with Rene Russo as the insurance investigator on his trail.

As for the new version of The Thomas Crown Affair, plot details have yet to be revealed, but fans can expect a fresh take on the suspenseful crime thriller. The Fall Guy scribe Drew Pearce has written the script for the remake, building on previous drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson. While we don’t know exactly how the story will unfold, it’s clear that Michael B. Jordan’s vision for the remake will bring his own unique touch to this beloved tale.

In addition to Jordan and Russell, The Thomas Crown Affair remake will feature a strong behind-the-scenes team. Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff will produce the film alongside Jordan and Raposo, and Alan Trustman, who wrote the original screenplay, will serve as an executive producer. With a combination of new talent and seasoned veterans, this remake has the potential to deliver a thrilling, modernized take on the classic film.

Whether you’re a fan of the original 1968 version, the 1999 remake, or you’re simply excited about Michael B. Jordan’s involvement, the 2027 release of The Thomas Crown Affair is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
