Big news for comedy fans! Nate Bargatze, the celebrated stand-up comedian, will be hosting the 77th Annual Emmy Awards in 2025.
The telecast is set to air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS. For those who prefer to stream, it’ll be available live and on-demand on Paramount+ as well.
Bargatze, known for his relatable humor and family-friendly comedy, is pumped about this hosting gig. “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show, and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world,” he said in a statement.
This hosting opportunity marks another collaboration with CBS for Bargatze. The comedian previously worked with the network on “Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Christmas,” which aired in December 2024 from the Grand Ole Opry. Nate Bargatze’s star power continues to rise. He sold more than 1.2 million tickets while on tour in 2024, making him the top-earning comedian globally, according to Pollstar. With six stand-up specials under his belt, his most recent, Your Friend, Nate Bargatze, debuted on Netflix. His earlier special, The Greatest Average American, even earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. He’s also made waves by hosting Saturday Night Live twice, most recently with a viral sketch in 2023 called “Washington’s Dream.”
