NBA Star Lamar Odom Kicked Out of LA Mansion Over Unpaid Rent

Lamar Odom is officially out of his Los Angeles mansion after being evicted for failing to pay $45,000 in back rent.

The former NBA star, who is also known for his high-profile marriage to Khloe Kardashian, ran into serious trouble with his landlord after missing rent payments for three months. This eviction drama marks another tough chapter in Lamar’s turbulent life since his basketball career and reality TV days.

Reports reveal that the eviction came after Executive Recovery Group, Inc., the sublessor of the massive Studio City mansion, sued Lamar in March. The company claimed Lamar agreed to pay $15,000 a month under a month-to-month rental agreement. But according to court documents obtained by The New York Post, the basketball player failed to pay any rent from January through March 2025, which left him owing a hefty $45,000.

The lawsuit also stated the fair rental value of the mansion is $500 per day, showing just how much Lamar was getting for the deal before falling behind. The sublessor served Lamar multiple notices, including a crucial three-day pay-or-quit notice posted directly on the property on March 11. This notice made it clear that Lamar needed to pay the full rent owed within three days or face eviction. The documents emphasized that failure to comply would result in forfeiture of the lease, a warning Lamar apparently ignored.

By March 17, Executive Recovery Group, Inc. officially terminated the lease agreement, citing Lamar’s failure to pay and noncompliance with the rental terms. The lawsuit didn’t just seek the back rent but also demanded attorney fees, damages, and the forfeiture of the agreement. Despite the seriousness of the case, Lamar reportedly did not respond to the lawsuit, which led to the court ruling in favor of the sublessor in April.

Following the court’s decision, Lamar was ordered to vacate the Studio City mansion immediately, officially marking the end of his stay in the sprawling home. This eviction comes years after Lamar’s high-profile marriage and divorce from Khloe Kardashian. The two famously tied the knot just a month after meeting and starred together on a reality show that aired for two seasons before its cancellation in 2012.

Lamar’s life has had many ups and downs since his NBA days, including a frightening health scare in 2015 when he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel and rushed to the hospital in a coma. Despite the challenges, the eviction adds another public setback to his already eventful life story.

The eviction story underscores the consequences of missing payments, even for celebrities, and shines a spotlight on Lamar’s financial struggles. For now, the basketball star has lost his home in one of Los Angeles’ most desirable neighborhoods, all because of unpaid rent stacking up to $45,000.

As the dust settles, fans and followers will be watching closely to see what Lamar’s next moves are, both personally and professionally. His eviction from the LA mansion is a stark reminder that no one is above the law when it comes to rent, no matter the fame or fortune.
