Ben Affleck made headlines at The Accountant 2 premiere in Los Angeles – not just for the movie, but for his heartfelt words about Jennifer Lopez. Yep, even after their split, he couldn’t stop gushing about her.
On April 16, while walking the red carpet, Ben Affleck was joined by his kids and Jennifer Lopez’s. He told Entertainment Tonight it was “a great night” and said, “The kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I’m very, very excited.” Clearly, things aren’t messy between them.
For context, Affleck shares Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel with Jennifer Garner. Lopez has twins, Max and Emme, with Marc Anthony. Seeing both sets of kids show up together felt like a big blended family moment. And people noticed.
ET’s Nischelle Turner even commented on how cool it was that the families are still connected. Affleck agreed and then straight-up praised his ex: “Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them. I love her kids. They’re wonderful.”
He kept going, too: “She’s an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.” Not exactly your typical post-divorce vibe, right?
Affleck made it super clear that there’s no drama. “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue,” he said about their breakup. “Honestly, the truth is much more boring than people think.” He added, “I have nothing but respect” for J.Lo.
They tied the knot in July 2022 and, just over two years later, Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. It was finalized in January 2025. But judging by how Ben talks about her, this isn’t your average Hollywood split.
The actor also opened up about how much joy he gets from his relationship with the kids – both his and hers. “The relationships you can have with children like that, it’s the joy of my life,” he said. “I’m glad that this is a movie they want to come to.”
The Accountant 2 drops on April 25, and it looks like Affleck is promoting it with more honesty and heart than we’re used to seeing in red carpet interviews.
