Rocco Ritchie isn’t here for the ‘nepo baby’ noise. At 24, the son of pop legend Madonna and filmmaker Guy Ritchie is pushing back on the label and carving out a career as an artist, on his own terms. In a recent interview with Fantastic Man, he made it clear that being born into fame doesn’t mean he has to fit into the typical celebrity-kid mold. “Nepo babies are not the most interesting bunch, are they?” he said, calling out the trend of lumping all famous offspring into one boring category.
He gets it, he comes from two of the biggest names in music and film. But Rocco’s not trying to ride on anyone’s coattails. He’s been working seriously in the art world, already holding six exhibitions. And he’s made it clear that he never really felt at home in elite circles. Growing up in London, he ditched posh parties for skateparks at South Bank. “Best years of my life,” he said, adding that upper-class people aren’t exactly known for being fun. That rebellious streak led him to Central Saint Martins, one of London’s top art schools, though he didn’t stick around long. A tutor once told him his art was “too masculine”, something Rocco clearly didn’t agree with. “I didn’t think it was vulgar,” he said, calling out the critique as missing the point. He left after just a year.
Now, he’s focusing fully on developing his craft. And while he’s not afraid to dress sharp, like his dad, he loves tweed and a good three-piece suit, he’s not buying into modern menswear trends. Rocco didn’t hold back, roasting today’s fashion flex culture: “First of all, who cares? Second of all, this is sh*t,” he said, adding that most men just don’t dress well anymore. He says there’s a huge difference between someone walking into a room with natural swagger and someone screaming for attention.

For Rocco, it’s not about being a Ritchie or a Ciccone. It’s about being taken seriously as an artist, and not being boxed in by a trending insult.
