Simone Biles was absolutely stunned by husband Jonathan Owens’ wedding outfit, and not in the way she expected. The Olympic icon tied the knot with the NFL star in 2023, but despite all her planning, Jonathan totally ignored one major request: the color scheme.
She told E! News that she and Jonathan had agreed to keep their outfits secret until the ceremony. But when she walked down the aisle and finally saw his tux? “They weren’t wearing the correct colors I told them to,” she said, laughing. “But it worked out. It looked beautiful.” Still, she admitted that once the ceremony was over, she leaned over and asked, “What are they wearing!”
Simone Biles was quick to defend her husband online, though, asking fans not to come for him. “Don’t flame my husband, please!” she said. “It’s not that he didn’t listen… it was a good choice.” So yes, the man went rogue on the color palette, but in her words, he nailed it anyway.
Outside of the wedding spotlight, Simone’s still making headlines. She was just named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, and even she can’t quite believe it. “It doesn’t feel real,” she said. “But it’s really exciting. I know how many kids look at that list and think, “She looks like me’.” It’s the kind of recognition that goes way beyond medals.
And speaking of medals, Simone snagged three more golds at the Paris 2024 Olympics, an epic comeback after stepping away during the Tokyo Games to focus on her mental health. As for the 2028 Olympics in LA? She’s not saying yes, but she’s not saying no either. “You have to let the athletes rest mentally and physically,” she said. “Time will tell.”
Whether she’s surprising the world on the mat or getting surprised on her wedding day, Simone Biles is still doing everything her own way, with a little help (and a few outfit curveballs) from her husband.
