‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Confirmed: What We Know So Far

It’s official, Ted Lasso is coming back for season 4.

After months of speculation, Apple TV+ has greenlit the return of its hit comedy, with Jason Sudeikis set to reprise his role as the beloved football coach. Fans had been unsure about the show’s future after Season 3 ended on what felt like a final note, but now, AFC Richmond will be back on screens once again.

Who’s Returning?

Along with Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) have been confirmed to return. Juno Temple (Keeley) is still in negotiations but is expected to rejoin the cast. Other familiar faces from Richmond’s coaching and management staff are also likely to return, though there is still uncertainty about some of the team’s star players, including Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt) and Nick Mohammed (Nate Shelley).

Where Will Season 4 Pick Up?

At the end of Season 3, Ted returned home to Kansas, seemingly closing his chapter with Richmond. However, sources say the new season will start in Kansas before shifting back to the UK, indicating that Ted’s story isn’t over just yet.

The show’s creative team, including Sudeikis and new co-showrunner Jack Burditt (30 Rock, Modern Family), has been working on scripts for months. While plot details are still under wraps, Sudeikis teased that Season 4 will see AFC Richmond taking major leaps of faith, possibly hinting at the much-discussed idea of a women’s team, which was teased in the Season 3 finale.

Production Timeline

Filming is expected to begin in July 2025, with casting for new roles already in progress. If production stays on schedule, fans can expect Ted Lasso to return in mid-to-late 2026.

A New Era for Ted Lasso?

Despite earlier plans to end the show after three seasons, Ted Lasso has remained Apple TV+’s most-watched original series, making its renewal a major win for the platform. Apple executives and Warner Bros. Television reportedly pushed for a return, with Sudeikis ultimately agreeing to continue the story.

As anticipation builds, one thing is certain, Richmond isn’t done just yet, and fans will soon see what’s next for Ted, Rebecca, Roy, and the rest of the crew.
