Teddi Mellencamp just gave everyone a reason to cheer with a health update.
The reality star shared a health update that’s got her fans feeling relieved and inspired – her tumors have either shrunk or completely disappeared. After battling stage IV melanoma that had spread to her brain and lungs, she’s finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she wrote, “All tumors stage 4 (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared, so I have sixish more weeks of immunotherapy. Doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.” She thanked everyone who’s sent love and prayers, making it clear how much support has meant to her.
Teddi also dropped a video message, where she looked emotional but hopeful. “The crying is already done,” she said with a laugh. “I just finished with all of my scans, and my tumors have significantly shrunk, which means the treatment is working.” With only two more sessions of immunotherapy left, her doctor’s optimism has clearly rubbed off on her. “You did this, you got this,” he told her – and that’s exactly the vibe she’s embracing.
Not long ago, things were a lot scarier. Teddi admitted during an interview on Nightline that she was told her survival chances were 50/50. She joked, “I wouldn’t buy a car that’s only gonna drive 50 percent of the time. I don’t want this.” Her honesty hit hard, showing how terrifying the uncertainty of a cancer battle can be.
What’s been constant through it all? Her attitude. Even when the odds were tough, Teddi stayed focused on the positive. Her motivation comes from her kids – Dove, Cruz, and Slate – who have been her rock throughout this journey. She’s also been real about how new immunotherapy is and how doctors just don’t have all the long-term data yet.
Now, with her tumors shrinking and her spirit stronger than ever, Teddi’s story is one of hope. She’s not done yet, but she’s close – and she’s facing the finish line with courage, humor, and a whole lot of gratitude.
