Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan Were a Mess Before Catfish Bomb

The chaos between Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan didn’t start with the catfishing scandal, turns out, their marriage was already drowning in drama before the internet even caught wind of it.

The Mötley Crüe rocker, 62, and his wife Brittany Furlan, 38, have been making headlines after Furlan admitted she was catfished by someone pretending to be Ronnie Radke, frontman of the band Falling in Reverse. But according to a source close to the couple, this was just the latest fire in a relationship that’s been smoldering for a while.

“They weren’t getting along,” the source revealed. “She left and went to a hotel. She went of her own volition. She took her s—. They got in a fight, and she left.” And that wasn’t all. The source added that Lee got “worked up” and called Radke himself, which ended up sparking even more chaos when Radke took things public. “Tommy just couldn’t get any peace and quiet. It’s drama, drama, drama,” the insider said.

Radke then posted on social media, claiming he had “no idea” what Lee was talking about and said he went public only because Lee “would not stop yelling at me.” This entire mess started when Brittany Furlan began exchanging Snapchat messages with someone she thought was Radke. In reality, it was a catfish. Furlan later said in a TikTok video posted on May 17 that the catfish started “trying to seduce” her while she was going through a “really tough time” in her marriage.

“Obviously, I’m in a hotel right now,” she said in the video. “I’ve been going through a really tough time in my marriage, which was none of anyone’s f—— business, but he’s made it everyone’s business.” She said she didn’t save the messages because she “didn’t want to be shady” and claimed she was upfront with Lee about the whole situation. Once she told him, he allegedly called Radke directly, which lit the match that started this whole public feud.

Radke claimed he had nothing to do with the messages and was blindsided by Lee’s reaction. Meanwhile, Furlan said she was over the drama and just wanted to be left alone. She posted what she claimed were DMs between her and the real Radke, saying, “It’s a catfish, cool. I got catfished. Why are you still harassing me? Why are you sending me hundreds of messages? Why are you trolling me? I don’t give a f—. I unfollowed you. Leave me alone. That’s it.”

She also said lawyers are involved now, on both sides. The couple’s reps didn’t respond to any requests for comment, but the tension is crystal clear. According to TMZ, Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan had already been living separately before the catfish bombshell dropped, largely due to concerns about Lee’s drinking.

The two first connected on the celeb dating app Raya back in 2017 and married in 2019. In the Netflix doc The American Meme, Lee said he’d followed Furlan on Vine for years and thought she was “funny, and stupid, and cute, and beautiful.” They weren’t shy about their love either, Furlan even told PEOPLE in 2023 that Lee was “the first guy that treats me so well.”

But now? That honeymoon phase is ancient history. What’s left is a messy, very public unraveling of the Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan marriage, with social media receipts, hotel stays, yelling matches, and legal threats all tangled in one high-octane breakdown. And from the looks of it, this isn’t just a short-term fight—it’s a full-blown crisis.
