The heartbreaking cause behind the death of Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff has finally come to light.
David Hasselhoff’s ex-wife, who died on March 5 at age 62, has been confirmed to have died by suicide, according to official documents obtained by Us Weekly. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner listed suicide as the official cause of death, putting to rest weeks of speculation around the sudden and tragic loss.
The toxicology report revealed Pamela had benzodiazepines, clonazepam, and 7-aminoclonazepam in her system at the time of her passing. According to the Cleveland Clinic, these medications are typically prescribed for treating anxiety, panic disorders, and seizures. Although the report noted she had mentioned suicide in the past year, it also clearly stated there had been no previous attempts before this devastating moment.
One of the most emotional details uncovered in the report is that Pamela spoke to her daughter at 7:45 a.m. on the morning of her death. In what is now understood as her final words, she told her daughter that she “loved her very much.” The call now feels especially haunting in the wake of what followed just hours later.
Pamela’s ex-husband, David Hasselhoff, responded to the news with a brief but heartfelt statement shared via TMZ: “Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time, but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
Pamela and David first met when she appeared as a guest star on Knight Rider, the series that catapulted Hasselhoff to global fame. The two got married in 1989 and shared a life for nearly 17 years before divorcing in 2006. Together, they had two daughters, Taylor, now 34, and Hayley, 32.
