We’ve all been waiting for Sunburn to come up with an official announcement confirming their 2016 venue, and an announcement has been made.
After spending 9 years in Goa, the festival has been forced to move out, leaving organizers scrambling for the perfect replacement. Though a new venue hasn’t yet been announced. Sunburn has delivered the following update:
Dear Sunburners,
9 years at the SUNBURN Festival home in #Goa have been amazing. We have had full support from the state & everyone there..and each & everyone one of you.
This year the story changed a bit, maybe due to infrastructure constraints or forthcoming elections. With months having passed since our application was filed for #Sunburn10 to be held in Goa; we still wait for an official response from the Goa Government and local authorities. We have been waiting patiently for months for a clear direction to emerge but unfortunately that hasn’t happened.
We did MORE than all we could!
Its our 10th anniversary and we have a massive plan in store for our fans. To pull all this off, we need time to plan and we are unable to wait any longer. Of course, we are sure that even each of you need time to plan your travel & arrangements for the festival. It is not fair to ask or expect you to wait any longer. You have loved & supported us for the past 9 years.
While these clouds of uncertainty wander, we feel we owe it to everyone to give the Sunburn loyalists an experience of a lifetime.
We will be announcing the new venue and our Phase 1 Artist line up (one that you wouldn’t want to miss) in the coming days, along with our next release of tickets for the festival.
We are nothing without our fans and for all of those who put their faith in us & purchased ‘Early Bird Phase 1’ tickets, we have something special in store. We have a lot of surprises coming your way, and we will make sure you are completely well taken care of, the decision lies with you once the announcement is made.
We know it takes days of planning to attend the sunburn festival and it takes us much more to ensure you have an experience of a lifetime, every time. Keeping the same in mind that’s why we would not only give you the best Sunburn ever, we will also bring in our partners to ensure you have a click of a button solution for all your festival needs.
In our 10th anniversary, we are also adding a massive NYE celebration to the festival. #Sunburn10 is scheduled to take place from Dec 28 to 31 and will be feature some of the world’s biggest artists and experiences.
From setting up the grandest stage the country has ever seen to giving 350000+ fans from 52 countries & forming memories that will last a lifetime; Season 9 was undoubtedly a hit with all. With #Season10 we hope to amp up on all fronts to make this our biggest year yet. You have already witnessed a massive opening to the season with arena tours featuring your favourite artists Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, and marshmello.
