India’s Premier Electronic Dance Music Holi is all set to rise to the next level of madness in its fourth year. We caught up with Aarrnav Shirsat, from 3rd Rock Entertainment and spoke to him about how it all began, and how he sees this festival pan out in the next few years. Read our chat below. :)
Zeeshaan – Hey Aarrnav, thanks for this interview! How have you been doing?
Aarrnav – I am doing good, was pretty busy the last whole week from the Delhi, Goa and Pune trips.
Zeeshaan – Congratulations on the 4th edition of the Holi Reloaded festival. We would love to know how this was conceptualized.
Aarrnav – As we started in 2013, we got Juno Reactor whose the music director of the movie ‘Matrix Reloaded’ that’s how we started in 2013 and we named it Holi Reloaded in connection to Matrix. And from then we have, the first year was really like a new thing which we had tried and also got a good response from it. Every year we raised the bar upto 25 to 30%, this year we planned to go PAN India and maybe next we are planning to do Dubai and USA.
Zeeshaan – Were there any challenges in getting this up and running?
Aarrnav – It’s always challenging when you’re working on something, its like people try to copy and build competition like this year you see and like that’s when your expertise really comes out, how are you going to promote it, how are you going to do the programming, what is the setup and all, that’s we have been successful in planning and designing everything.
Zeeshaan – How do we see Holi Reloaded pan out over the next few years?
Aarrnav – So in the coming few years we are going to focus more on getting a class crowd, we don’t want to make numbers. we want to be very niche, a very niche crowd and everything we want a specific type of crowd coming to the festival. Like a crowd which is more into music that gives a positive vibe to the festival.
