B Jones discusses performing at Tomorrowland 2022, playing in Ibiza, and more.
Aditya – Hey B Jones, Glad to have you for the interview. How were the first couple of months of this year for you?
B Jones – Hello!! thank you for inviting me to this interview, these two months I have been making a lot of new music and starting my tour “I fall in love” which is also the name of my new single coming out soon on Universal
Aditya – First off, you’re the first Spanish DJ to perform on the ginormous Tomorrowland main stage this year, how do you feel about that?
B Jones – I feel very happy and grateful, and at the same time, proud to be able to show the world that women deejays are making history!!
Aditya – You had a 3-month residency at Ibiza last year, how was that?
B Jones – To play in Ibiza is like playing home! I have been a resident DJ of the best club in ibiza for the last 4 years , last year was different because covid, but it was also a really good experience
Aditya – What’s your creative process like when you produce?
B Jones – Normally I start with an inspiration about what I want write (the lyrics) and how I will make the people dance with it, after I have different ways… I start with the instrumental or I work with the singer and after that I make the production
Aditya – What’s your studio setup like?
B Jones – I have a good studio at home that I share with my boyfriend (who is also a DJ and a producer) but most of the time I am on my table kitchen with my computer and headphones hahaha
Aditya – Are you hosting any residencies this year?
B Jones – Sure! but we are dealing with it and right now so I can´t confirm anything – watch this space!
Aditya – Could you share more about your online music academy that you’re running?
B Jones – It was an amazing experience during pandemic, but now I´m working hard on new music and traveling every week, playing lots of show and preparing the festival shows… To be honest, I don’t have time to continue with this at the moment.
Aditya – You also have a record label in the works, could you share some more info on that?
B Jones – Comecloser records will launch on 22nd April, I will start this project with my own version of one of my favourite songs ‘Bella Ciao’
Aditya – It looks like you’ve been quite around the world, which is your favorite place & why?
B Jones – I love every place where I have performed but my favourite place is Ibiza because it is a city where people come from all over the planet to enjoy electronic music.
Aditya – Lastly, what’s your favorite Spanish food?
B Jones – MY MOTHER’S PAELLA!!
