Up-and-coming DJ and producer Nuri has been making waves within the Dance music industry in the past few months. Having debuted with his single Blue Lagoon in May 2015, he has recently followed up with a fresh hit project by the name of Right Back managing to hit Beatports Top 100 Electro House chart.
In just a few months Nuri is quickly establishing his own, original voice within the electronic music scene. His signature EDM style with hints of Hip Hop flavouring boasts uplifting sounds, celebrating the vibrancy of life whilst featuring danceable beats and memorable melodies, bringing out energy and emotions.
Drawing influence from contemporary superstar DJs such as: KSHMR, DVBBS, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Avicii, Martin Garrix and Swedish House Mafia, Nuri is moving forward at lightning speeds and there is surely much more yet in store for the months ahead.
Matt Caldwell PR had the pleasure to have a chat with Nuri to get some insight about his latest single Right Back and get to know the whole story behind it.
Matt Caldwell PR – Hi Nuri, thanks for finding the time to have a chat with us. How are you today and whats going on in your world right now?
Nuri – Its great to chat with you. Im doing very well, thank you. Theres a whole bunch of stuff going on in my world, its crazy.
Matt Caldwell PR – You’ve recently released a new single by the name of Right Back. How did this project come about?
Nuri – Well this was my second production after Blue Lagoon. I wanted to try a new sound, and thats what brought about Right Back.
Matt Caldwell PR – How would you describe this single in terms of sound and style?
Nuri – Its the generic Big Room track, very loud synths, lots of bass and vocal shouts for energy.
Matt Caldwell PR – What got you inspired for this one?
Nuri – Myself, I always compete with myself to try and take each track a step higher than my previous releases.
Matt Caldwell PR – How long did it take to finalise Right Back?
Nuri – About one or two weeks.
Matt Caldwell PR – Could you walk us through the production process behind this project?
Nuri – It was hard for me to produce this one because I did not quite understand the dynamics of the Big Room drops, so it took time to learn. Once that was through. I added synths to get nice melodies whilst the bass sounds in the track were all done using Massive. Theres also a lot of white noise which I used to fill the track up. The track really came out during mix down, as I added a lot of compression to it.
Matt Caldwell PR – This is your second release after Blue Lagoon. What kind of development did you see in terms of how you approach productions?
Nuri – Theres a big difference from when I started out with Blue Lagoon to this release, and my upcoming tracks. Ive learned a lot and continue to do so.
Matt Caldwell PR – Which plug-ins and sounds shaped the end result of this single?
Nuri – Sylenth1, Nexus and Massive. I used the standard multi-band compressor that comes with Ableton for compression.
Matt Caldwell PR – Right Back got signed by N&R Records. How did you spark a relationship with this label?
Nuri – I sent my demos to them, not one but three. They liked it and I felt it was a nice deal. Honestly I wouldnt have been able to get my tracks out individually and give the amount of exposure they have, all by myself. Its extremely difficult for new artists to get labels to give your tracks a second listen, let alone a chance to sign with them. So Im very grateful to them for this opportunity.
Matt Caldwell PR – Where would you imagine this single being played?
Nuri – Festival, and clubs.
Matt Caldwell PR – Describe Right Back in one word.
Nuri – Loud
Matt Caldwell PR – Why should people listen to Right Back?
Nuri – I cant think of a reason not to, if you like the Big Room sound, you will like Right Back.
Matt Caldwell PR – Do you have any other projects in the pipeline this year?
Nuri – I have a lot of projects lined up this year. Coming up soon though is a remix Im doing for Steve Aoki & Linkin Parks new track Darker Than Blood.
Matt Caldwell PR – Thanks Nuri!
