As the proud soundtrack for one of the biggest Spring Break club residencies in the USA, Brooke has utilized this position to craft music that’s brimming with life and encapsulates her thirst for the party lifestyle.

We speak to her to understand how she manages to perform so many roles, effectively.

T.H.E – Hey Brooke. Welcome to T.H.E – Music Essentials. How’s it going and what have you been up to?

Brooke Evers – Everything is great! I’m currently on the Gold Coast for another week then off to the UK to DJ next weekend then back to my other home- Los Angeles

T.H.E – Let’s talk about your new single – Feel It. The track has great energy and exuberance. Is this something that you actively try to create with every song?

Brooke Evers – Thanks. Yeah, I love this track. When I’m in the studio I like to create music that you can play almost anywhere, in the car, club, shower wherever.

T.H.E – You seem to be a big fan of vocal house, which is reflected in your sounds. What is it about this genre that appeals to you the most?

Brooke Evers – It’s so sexy! I love big vocals – always have. When I first started hitting the nightclubs at 18 that’s all I heard the DJs play so I think It just stuck with me.

T.H.E – Aside from being a producer and DJ, you also are a businesswoman, a model, and a gym owner! How do you manage to devote time to everything?

Brooke Evers – We have a great team of people working together to make sure everything is covered. My main priority is my brand, music and touring. We just opened an F45 in West Hollywood which is going so well! I love it.

T.H.E – In today’s day and age, especially for DJs, it’s very easy to focus on fewer things, especially because of the hectic touring schedule. What is your secret?

Brooke Evers – They’re not really any secrets. You just have to put your head down, work hard and structure your life. As I’ve become a little older I’ve released that you have to also look after yourself a lot more and take time out to relax otherwise you burn out quickly.

T.H.E – You’re also obsessed with fitness. Is that why you chose to open a gym?

Brooke Evers – No that’s not the reason. I’ve always been into sport and staying fit but we had an opportunity to get involved with F45 in America. So far, it’s going really well and we hope to open a few more studios.

T.H.E – Talk us through a typical day in your life. How do you start, and how do you go about planning the rest of your day?

Brooke Evers – Wake up, drink a big glass of water, check my phone then get ready for the gym or go for a run. I always start the day with exercise even if I’m on the road. It makes me feel great for the day ahead. Then I’m usually straight on the computer for the day pumping out emails, listening to music, working on tour schedules or social media. I’m currently right into intermittent fasting so I don’t really eat till about midday. Then in the afternoon maybe get outside, go see a mate then dinner, more work, and bed. This is usually a routine I do when I’m home otherwise I’m travelling.

T.H.E – Recently, the Australian scene faced quite a few issues, in terms of clubs receiving permissions to stay open. What do you think about the direction, the Australian dance music scene seems to be headed in?

Brooke Evers – I’ve definitely noticed a massive change in the clubbing scene in Australia. Over the past five years, I’ve seen some iconic venues shut down or venues struggling to keep doors open. It’s really sad. I don’t really know all the information on what’s happening in Australia as I’ve been living overseas for so long but I just hope it doesn’t get any worse.

T.H.E – Which are your top 5 dance music artists from Australia?

Brooke Evers – Pnau, Fisher, Timmy Trumpet, Rufus, The Stafford Brothers

T.H.E – Lastly, name 3 things that fans don’t know about you.

Brooke Evers – I am Dutch/Australian both my parents were born in the Netherlands. I’m really good at jump rope and competed when I was young. I’m obsessed with Dutch licorice also known as “Drop”.
