T.H.E – Hi Cyazon, how are you?
Cyazon – Hello, doing good, thank you!
T.H.E – To start, when was the last time you heard a track that made you rethink your sound?
Cyazon – The new Nero album definitely had me rethinking my sound. I’m moving more towards song/melody-driven tracks with vocals rather than following the trends in House, Bass music, and other popular genres.
T.H.E – What was the last classic record that you rediscovered?
Cyazon – The last classic record I rediscovered was “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears For Fears.
T.H.E – When was the last time you found inspiration in a place you didn’t expect?
Cyazon – About a month ago, I was writing music while watching Bladerunner 2049. I ended up creating a very cinematic Melodic Dubstep track that turned out really well. I usually don’t write music while watching movies, so that was an unexpected source of inspiration for me.
T.H.E – What’s the last genre or style that has influenced your music recently?
Cyazon – I think the House music influence in Nero’s new album has definitely impacted my recent work. It’s been shaping the direction of the music I’m currently aiming to write.
T.H.E – When was the last time you heard a remix that you wished you’d made?
Cyazon – It’s been a while, but the last remix I heard that made me think “I wish I’d made that” was the BRVMES remix of “I Won’t Let You Fall” by Whipped Cream.
T.H.E – What was the last artist who surprised you with their creative evolution?
Cyazon – Nero’s latest album really surprised me. They managed to stay true to their signature sound while also staying relevant in today’s EDM scene. It was interesting to see how this new album connects with their previous work.
T.H.E – When was the last time you revisited an old project and gave it new life?
Cyazon – That would be my track “Ultraviolet” with Becko. I started it in 2020, and it went through numerous versions before it was finally completed in 2023. The final version sounds completely different from the original.
T.H.E – What’s the last track that inspired you to hit the studio immediately?
Cyazon – I recently came across a track on Spotify that really inspired me to dive back into the studio. It’s called “I Feel So Fcking Brand New – His Version”* by Cinnamon Chasers.
T.H.E – When was the last time you drew inspiration from a conversation with another artist?
Cyazon – That was a long time ago—probably back in 2019 when I was hanging out with Xilent.
T.H.E – What was the last non-music art form that influenced your creative direction?
Cyazon – I recently discovered an actress on TikTok a few weeks ago, and I’ll be working with her on an upcoming music video. Her work has definitely inspired the creative vision and storyline behind Cyazon and the music video.
Cyazon’s insights reveal an Artist deeply committed to his craft, one who continuously works to find fresh ways to push his creative boundaries and develop his sound. So, with our interview drawing to a close, we thank Cyazon for his time and look forward to seeing where his journey will lead him next; having promised new projects and collaborations on the horizon, Cyazon appears an Artist to watch, so be sure to keep up with him via social media to not miss out on any of his upcoming releases.
