Albin

Prolific producer, show stopping DJ, national TV personality; whichever words you use to describe the eccentric Swedish luminary that is Albin Myers, there can be no denying the fact that he is one of the fastest rising, most promising stars of the electronic music world. A performer in the truest sense of the word, with an inventive finesse and a fresh originality of touch in the studio to match, he is an artist whose capability, showmanship and diligence knows no bounds.

Up next for Albin will be performing at Bengaluru’s very own EDM festival – Five Six Zero! We caught up with the man himself and spoke to him about various things including his relationship with India, and how the city of Bangalore inspired him to come up with a new track! Read our chat below.

T.H.E – Hey Albin! What have you been upto?

Albin – Traveling like crazy!

T.H.E – You will be performing at the Five Six Zero Festival at Bangalore. How excited are you and what are you looking forward to the most?

Albin – I feel blessed to be part of this new musical chapter in Bangalore! I really look forward to meet the audience.

T.H.E – Are there any exclusives/new tracks that fans can expect from your set?

Albin – I got a bunch of new music that I’ll be playing! The set will take the crowd into different states. Tempos going up & down. They’re in for a treat!

T.H.E – You recently released a single – ‘The Bang Galore’ along with Rokku! How did the city of Bangalore inspire you to come up with this?

Albin – Yes! I came up with the Idea when I played in Bangalore last October. I was hanging out with Rohit Barker after the show, eating some late dinner. We where talking and I just came up with the song title. Such a catchy phrase. When I got back home to Sweden I immediately got to work in the studio with the song!

T.H.E – In parallel with the growing of the ‘dance music’ scene in India, you’ve been making your way down here since a long time. Could you shed some light on your relationship with your fans here and your love for the country?

Albin – It’s been so nice to be able to get down and perform here! I counted to around 32-35 shows in 6 years! That’s a lot for one country! I’ve gotten allot of inspiration coming here. Except for my song “The Bang Galore”, I’ve made other tracks influenced by the music culture here in India. “Shanti”, “Tabla” & “Ganesha”.

T.H.E – Now time for a few quick ones (and funny!) for you.

Albin – Shoot!

T.H.E – Imagine if you woke up on the morning of your favourite festival and found it was raining, how would you dress and how would you take care of your cellphone?

Albin – Wellies & a rain poncho for sure! Not sure what I would do with the mohawk tho… Zip lock bag for the phone!

T.H.E – What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

Albin – My mind wonders in all directions. On my way here I was wondering what the population of Hyderabad is and if I have any food in the fridge when I get back home to Sweden.

T.H.E – If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

Albin – Maybe a cat. Just wonder around minding my own business.

T.H.E – Who would win a fight between Spiderman and Batman?

Albin – Tuff question. I like both characters but Batman is more hardcore bad to the bone so I go with Batman!

T.H.E – Thanks Albin! Can’t wait to see you at the Five Six Zero Festival. :)

Albin – Looking forward to see you to dance like crazy!

Trust us when we tell you, if you are from Bengaluru and are a fan of dance music, you have to make your way down to this festival. You can grab your tickets here.
