L.A.’s very own Adrien Mezsi has been rapidly climbing the Dance music ladder since exploding onto the scene.

Drawing influences from underground Techno parties and fusing them with EDM sounds, Adrien has been responsible for creating some of the scene’s most energetic club hits. This has lead to some of the world’s biggest taste-makers such as: Tiesto, Kaskade, Paul Oakenfold, Mark Knight and BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong giving him their seal of approval.

2016 sees Adrien launch his newly formed label Mezsed Up Records. With upcoming releases such as ‘Bomba’ already gaining huge support from international heavyweights such as: Tommy Trash, Moguai, Stadiumx, Delayers and D.O.D, Mezsed Up has already established itself as one of the most exciting emerging new imprints. We sat down with Adrien to talk about all things Mezsed Up.

T.H.E – Thanks Adrien for taking time to answer these few questions. For those who don’t know you, what made you decide to pursue a career in the music industry?

Adrien Mezsi – The passion for music itself and wanting to make it daily left me no choice. I love it too much not to.

T.H.E – Despite releases such as DNCE, a collaboration with Max Vangeli that was released on Size Records, as well and releases on Spinnin and Strictly Rhythm, you decided to start your own label Mezsed Up. What were your reasons for doing so?

Adrien Mezsi – Being able to release music whenever I want while avoiding most of the rubbish involved in the music business.

T.H.E – How did you decide on the label’s name Mezsed Up?

Adrien Mezsi – Some girl said to me ‘lets get Mezsi’ at the club and it stuck. Then the thought from getting Mezsi to Mezsed Up naturally came to mind.

T.H.E – What can we expect from the label in terms of music? Will you be releasing music on a monthly basis?

Adrien Mezsi – Everything. I don’t discriminate against genres. Yes, there’s music signed up till summer already.

T.H.E – Choosing from the label’s upcoming releases, do you have a favourite? Bomba?

Adrien Mezsi – There are a few. Noizy Mark and I have a special one.

T.H.E – Will it be a label dedicated solely to releasing your own music or will it be a platform for new upcoming talents to be heard?

Adrien Mezsi – Both. It doesn’t matter to me as long as its dope.

T.H.E – Do you plan to be heavily involved in running the label on a day-to-day basis or do you plan on taking a backseat and allow your team to run it, allowing you to spend more time in the studio?

Adrien Mezsi – I wouldn’t have started it if it were in someone else’s hands.

T.H.E – For those who don’t know, what exactly is involved in running a record label?

Adrien Mezsi – Too many to list but a few include listening to tons of music and knowing when something is good or when it’s shit is a big one. Being able to bring the best out of an artist, leading young guys and helping them mature.

T.H.E – How can emerging artists send their music to be considered for the label?

Adrien Mezsi – By sending a downloadable Soundcloud or MP3 link to [email protected]

T.H.E – What artists can we expect to see on the label in the near future?

Adrien Mezsi – Rayven & Valexx, Noizy Mark, Xaver, Daniel Etienne, There are a lot!

T.H.E – Running a record label must be very time consuming; do you have a team of people that are working for the label with you?

Adrien Mezsi – It is. My PR management and some DJ friends help out as well.

T.H.E – What are your long term plans for the label?

Adrien Mezsi – I’d like to branch out in different areas and do label shows, clothing, short films, the ideas are endless!

T.H.E – If you had to choose one artist to release a track on Mezsed Up who would it be?

Adrien Mezsi – I just answered this in another interview and my answer is the same;

Kanye West because I love his music and his marketing game is genius! (Laughs).
