Jordana Bryant discusses her journey in music, R3HAB’s remix for her single “Can I Get It Back” & more.

Aditya – Hello, we’re glad to have you for this interview. How was the last year for you?

Jordana Bryant – The last year has been so crazy I honestly can’t believe it! I’ve had the opportunity to release a handful of songs that I’m really proud of and there’s even more on the way that I can’t wait to share with everyone.

Aditya – You’re just 17! Could you tell us a bit about your journey into the music industry.

Jordana Bryant – My dad taught me how to play guitar at 10, and I began writing my own songs shortly afterwards. I’ve always loved how songwriters can choose what message they put into the world because I feel like it’s such a great opportunity to spread positivity and help people with what they’re going through. I really hope that I can have that impact on people and use music to make them feel a little bit better.

Aditya – Legendary DJ/Producer ‘R3HAB’ spun your single ‘Can I get It Back’ in his own style, what do you think about the remix?

Jordana Bryant – I’m so excited about the remix! One of my favorite things about being an artist is getting to collaborate with other amazing musicians, so I’m so happy to have gotten the chance to work with R3HAB on this track. I love how this remix brings a totally new energy and feel to the song!

Aditya – How did the collaboration with R3HAB come about, and what was it like working with him on the remix?

Jordana Bryant – My fans were so excited and supportive about the original song when it first came out and I knew I wanted to do something special for them. Even though the style of music I make is country-pop, I love listening to other genres of music as well, such as EDM.

I’ve been a big fan of R3HAB for a while, so I was so excited to get to work with him to create a totally different spin on this track with the remix.

Aditya – It’s been only 2 weeks since the track’s out, and it has amassed over a million streams online. How do you feel about that?

Jordana Bryant – It’s performed beyond my wildest dreams to be completely honest. I’m so happy that people are loving it!

Aditya – The song ‘Can I get it back’ is highly sentimental. What sparked your writing, and what was the creative process like?

Jordana Bryant – I wrote ‘Can I Get It Back’ about wishing I could get back the time I wasted on a relationship. I feel like a lot of the time when you reflect on an experience that didn’t go how you had wanted, you often wish you could do things differently. So, I wanted to write a song about that and about how maybe if you had known that your relationship wasn’t going to work out, you could have saved yourself a lot of trouble.

Aditya – Who are your influences and why?

Jordana Bryant – Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are both big influences for me. Carrie Underwood obviously has an incredible voice, but I especially love how emotive it is and how she really makes you feel every lyric she sings. And I love Taylor Swift because her writing feels so authentic and relatable, and I think it’s so amazing how her songs make you feel like they’re written about your own life.

Aditya – If you could collaborate with any artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Jordana Bryant – Probably either Dolly Parton or Reba McEntire because they’ve left such a legacy in the music industry and have really paved the way for women in country music. They’ve had such an impact on me and my career, so it would truly be a surreal experience to get to collaborate with them.

Aditya – What’s next for you musically? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you’re excited about?

Jordana Bryant – Later this month, I’ll be releasing a brand new single, ‘Penniless & Broke.’ I’ve posted a few clips of it on TikTok and Instagram and I’ve loved getting to read all the comments of how people are relating to this song, so I’m super excited for everyone to hear the full version!
