After confidently bursting onto the scene in 2006, Spanish producer Albert Neve firmly cemented his reputation as one of the leading lights of the electronic music scene in his native country with a string of outstanding remixes releases and collaborations.

Recently, Albert Neve and Abel Ramos, two of the leading lights in the Spanish dance music scene, teamed up to release a huge collaboration titled ‘Let The Bass Be Louder’! We caught up with Albert and spoke to him about this collab, plus his plans for the rest of 2016. Read our chat below! :)

Valarie – Welcome Albert Neve. Thank you for taking time out of your hectic schedule to talk with us. What are you up to?

Albert Neve – Hello! I’m really happy to have the chance to talk with you guys. I’ve been involved in the release of my new track, and you can imagine how crazy it has been!

Valarie – What has your journey been like so far?

Albert Neve – Pretty amazing until now. I’ve dedicated my whole life to music, and everything I have done has always been related to it. After so many years with some lights and shadows, it’s very nice to see how the results are arriving finally. I can say that this is one of the best moments of my career.

Valarie – With songs like “Future Rave” featuring JP Candela (released on Chuckie’s Dirty Dutch label) & your last track “Damn” with Chuckie (out on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s label, Smash The House records), how do you find the process of collaborations?

Albert Neve – I find really interesting to collaborate with other artists, specially with those I share similar points of view. In these cases the main idea was very clear on our minds, and with a defined starting point it’s always easier to work on. The key to find the sweet spot between the both artist signatures.

Valarie – Speaking of collaborations, you have done a song with fellow Spaniard, Abel Ramos, called “Let The Bass Be Louder” which is out on Tiësto’s Musical Freedom label. How did this come about?

Albert Neve – I’ve known Abel for a long time. We’re friends, we know each other very well, and we’ve collaborated many times before, so we decided to give it a go again and create something new and special, but based on the trust we’ve built through the years. We couldn’t be happier with the results of our new project.

Valarie – Are there any artists you would specifically like to work with?

Albert Neve – Absolutely, there’s so many people I admire and that I could fill the whole interview with their names. To mention someone I know personally, Don Diablo is an invaluable talent and a really nice person who I’d love to join forces with in the studio one day.

Valarie – What can you tell us about your plans for 2016 in terms of touring/upcoming singles/collabs etc.?

Albert Neve – I’m just back from Punta Cana where I’ve been part of one of the most important festivals of the Caribbean, Desalia. Now I have several gigs in different countries like France, Egypt and Spain before the summer season. Talking about the productions I have several tracks coming on the way, some are collabs, others are my own songs, but in the overall I’m extremely happy with the results. You can expect of course the follow ups to all my last collabs, plus one with my homie Genairo Nvilla that it’s almost finished.

Valarie – What is one thing that you would like to do, that you haven’t done already? (this could be a Festival or a country you would like to play in / a specific clubs you would like to play at etc)

Albert Neve – I’d love to play in Mysteryland as well as some other amazing festivals i know of but have never been to. About other countries I’ve never visited, I’d like to play in Croatia. It’s a country I’ve heard so beautiful things about that I’d love to play there some time soon.

Valarie – According to you, which 5 artists should our readers keep an eye out for in 2016?<br>

Albert Neve – For me Curbi, Cid, Throttle, Merk & Kremont and Amersy.

Valarie – Thank you Albert Neve for taking time out to talk to us here at T.H.E – Music Essentials. It’s been an absolute pleasure!

Albert Neve – It has been my pleasure guys, I hope it’s not the last :)
