T.H.E Interview – Joakim Molitor

0

It seems up-and-coming Joakim Molitor has a natural ear for what makes good, dance-floor fuelled music and so it comes as no surprise that the Swedish star has already accrued a sizeable amount of attention for his previous releases.

One of his most recent efforts, ‘Morning Sun’, where he teamed up with Corey James, rushed into Beatport’s progressive house Top 100 within 2 days before hitting #16 and reaching the Top 10 on the Swedish Spotify Viral 50. With ‘Morning Sun’ racking up an abundance of SoundCloud streams and earning praise from the likes of Tom Swoon, Danny Avila, Max Vangeli and Third Party, to name a few, Joakim is on an upwards trajectory and shows no signs of stopping.

We had the chance to catch up with Joakim and speak to him about his plans for 2016. Read our chat below! :)

Valarie – Hello, Joakim. Thanks for taking time out for this interview. 2015 has been a great year for you! If you had to share your personal highlights of the year, what would they be?

Joakim – I would say the ending of 2015 by releasing ‘Morning Sun’ is the best. I worked a lot in 2015 without realising that much and to see the reaction and feedback we’ve got from that song makes me excited to put out more.

Valarie – What are your plans for 2016? Any collabs/projects that you would like to share with us?

Joakim – I have a bag full of songs ready to go that I really want to show everyone. I have one more song with Corey James and also an official remix for Feenixpawl coming up in February!

Valarie – Name 5 artists to look out for in 2016.

Joakim – Sam Void, Smith & Thell, Years, Shapov to name a few, and of course Joakim Molitor :)

Valarie – Thanks Joakim for taking time out of your hectic schedule to talk to us here at T.H.E – Music Essentials. It’s been a pleasure!
