T.H.E – Welcome Vanto & Mancuso, we are so glad to be talking to you on T.H.E – Interviews. What’s been happening over the past few months in your world?
Vanto & Mancuso – Actually our free time is divided between studio work focused on new productions and gigs, even if the pandemic slowed down our rhythm. But we are hopeful and optimistic about the next period.
T.H.E – We heard your amazing new single ‘Heart & Mind’ and we sure do love it! What went behind making this amazing single?
Vanto & Mancuso – The idea was born during a summer evening in Italy in front of the majestic sea, which, you know, takes care of your thoughts. We were inspired by the waves, sometimes strong and sometimes very calm, so Heart & Mind came out almost naturally.
T.H.E – Can you share your influences behind the record?
Vanto & Mancuso – We always try to reach new sounds and go beyond our limits to explore new fields. We have different influences that depend on our feelings and emotions, so our sound is dynamic and fluid.
T.H.E – What are some of the key bits of music making gear in your current set up?
Vanto & Mancuso – We work with digital synthesizers, but we have also a favourite keyboard called Moog Subsequent 37.
T.H.E – Talk to us about producing music together. Do you each take on different roles in the studio? Who does what?
Vanto & Mancuso – Patrick (Vanto) deals with production of the tracks always looking for new ideas and music, Daniele (Mancuso) finish the tracks with some important gems. Together we balance all the elements until everything fits well.
T.H.E – Creatively, how do you work? Do you have an idea in your head you work towards or do you just experiment and jam and see what happens?
Vanto & Mancuso – We always try to reach new sounds and go beyond our limits to explore new fields. We have different influences that depend on our feelings and emotions, so our sound is dynamic and fluid.
T.H.E – How was the pandemic for you and what effect did it have on your music taste and style?
Vanto & Mancuso – The pandemic was a bad luck for all of us. That’s the reason why we don’t know where this final shot of this weird year will lead us. We hope that we can come back on stage and let the music cheers us up. We are very optimistic, so we trust that this will happen soon.
T.H.E – What can we expect from you in 2022?
Vanto & Mancuso – We are dreamers and ambitious, so our aim is to reach the main stages. We want to dedicate entirely ourselves to music and become a single thing. We want to breathe music everyday.
