Chipotle’s fan-favorite digital game, Burrito Vault, is back just in time for National Burrito Day 2025 – and it’s bigger than ever.
Starting Monday, March 31 at 9 a.m. ET, Chipotle Rewards members in the U.S. and Canada can log on to UnlockBurritoDay.com to take their shot at winning free food.
This year, more than 150,000 Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) entrée codes are up for grabs. To win, players have to correctly guess a secret burrito order ingredient-by-ingredient. It sounds simple, but with endless burrito combinations, cracking the Burrito Vault code is a legit challenge.
Only the first 2,500 players each hour who get it right will win a free BOGO code, so timing is key. Even if you’re not among the early birds, Chipotle is throwing you a bone – everyone who plays after the hourly prize cap is reached will score 25 rewards points.
“Last year, our Burrito Vault drove unprecedented fan engagement that resulted in our highest digital transaction day of all time,” said Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Chris Brandt. “Now, we are giving them another chance to crack the code and score more free burritos.”
In 2024, the game was played more than 2 million times, with all prizes claimed in under 20 minutes. To prevent that frenzy from happening again, Chipotle is switching up the code every hour this year. That means you’ve got a fresh shot at burrito glory throughout the day.
While social media exploded with talk of Chipotle shutting down, let’s be clear – Chipotle is NOT closing. The confusion started after a Spanish media outlet reported the closure of Farmesa Fresh Eatery, a small test venture by Chipotle back in 2023. Some folks mistook that for the end of Chipotle itself.
A spokesperson confirmed: “The false information stemmed from an inaccurate online article confusing Chipotle with a venture it tested in 2023.”
So rest easy. The burritos are safe – and plentiful.
