Spending over a decade establishing his unparalleled legacy on Monstercat Silk, Qatari producer A.M.R returned to the label today, teaming up with singer-songwriter Lumynesynth for their new single, “Unfinished.”
Pivoting from organic house and leaning into lo-fi elements, A.M.R tried something different on the record, striking a beautiful balance between comforting vocals and crisp production. “Unfinished” tugs at the heartstrings within seconds of the twinkling chords and subtle spinning of an old film reel, creating a palpable sense of nostalgia.
A.M.R shares, “Beth did an amazing job capturing the theme of this track and I’m really glad I got to work with her on this collaboration.”
Lumynesynth adds, “‘Unfinished’ is a song that’s very close to my heart. It’s about a really difficult point in my life, and how it made me take a step back and appreciate the people that are closest to me. Having to leave big pieces of yourself behind is hard, but as long as you have people around who care about you, you can learn to find peace and happiness wherever you are.”
Growing up in a musically-inclined family, A.M.R was prone to experimenting with different styles of dance music in his bedroom studio as a teen. Since then, his beloved catalogue has earned him charting hits on SiriusXM Chill and fans in everyone from Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, and Tiësto. In just a year, A.M.R has nearly tripled his listenership and is bridging cultures across electronic music from Qatar.
On the other side of the world, Berklee-graduate Lumynesynth has quickly risen to become a sought-after vocalist for progressive house producers on multiple labels. With “Unfinished” serving a taste of her limitless talents, she’ll be one to watch in 2022.
