Not too long ago, Avicii’s family announced that a new posthumous album will be out in June, which will go by the name “TIM”, named after Avicii himself.
The first track from the album now comes out in the form of “SOS”, which features on it, Aloe Blacc. Aloe Blacc and Avicii have also worked together on his biggest hits ever, “Wake Me Up”.
Completed by the producers Albin Nedler and Kristoffer Fogelmark, the track shows Avicii’s trademark sounds as richly as any of the tracks he produced single-handedly.
“He had a completely different way of playing piano and keyboard,” says Nedler. “As a result, his fingers would sometimes strike an unusual key, which added to his unique sound. Tim’s fingerprints are literally across the entirety of ‘SOS.’”
After finding out from his personal notes that he intended to work with Aloe Blacc, the singer was invited to collaborate. “Thank you, Tim. Today we share your creativity with the world once again. I’m honoured to have worked with you and I promise to carry on your legacy through our songs,” the singer tweeted on Wednesday as the song was released.
The proceeds from the upcoming album will help many causes across the globe, mainly mental health and suicide prevention, by the way of the newly set up Tim Bergling Foundation started by his family.
After one year since his death, Tim is still living among us through his music and here’s another new piece of music from this legend. Let us know what you think of it! Download it here.
