After a superb outing with his original ‘Cinematography’ EP late last year, Bright Light Bright Light (Rod Thomas) has returned with the sequel, and it’s definitely worth a listen.

He says: “I wanted to dig into some of the songs that inspired the more introspective and downbeat sides to ‘Choreography’ as well as the fiercer and more joy-filled parts.”

One of the most independent pop artists in the world, Rod Thomas is his own label boss, A&R, manager, tour manager and one time booking agent. After his album’s critical acclaim, he went on to join legendary Mute alumni, signing to Mute Song for publishing.

His album ‘Choreography’, released last year, achieved praise from Rolling Stone, Red Bull, Huffington Post, Popjustice, Gay Times, Official Charts and more. ‘Choreography’ includes collaborations with Elton John, Alan Cumming, Ana Matronic and Jake Shears. It also met critical and commercial success on its July 2016 release, shining bright in both UK (#1 Indie Breakers) and US (#12 Dance / Electronic Albums) charts. He then released Cinematography’ in November 2016, which also hit #6 UK Indie Breakers and #30 US Billboard Dance / Electronic Albums.

Following this, he toured the UK and Europe covering major cities in France, UK, Germany and The Netherlands. His UK shows was well received and stormed with positive critic reviews, (Sunday Mail: “Bright Light Bright Light is going to be a superstar” and Music News: “(Rod) Thomas has a fantastic voice, the emotion is palpable.”)

  1. Loved this guy since hearing his first album way back in 2012 before seeing him live that same year. His 2nd, and most recent, 3rd album are just as good. That’s not even counting the EP releases such as this. I can not say enough good things about him. If you haven’t heard his stuff and you like pop/dance/electronic/synth music then buy it all now from Amazon, bandcamp or iTunes and then come back and thank me.
