Multi-genre dance music producer KEPIK announces his first multi-track body of work on Ophelia with the “Clearer Now” EP, releasing on Friday, March 11th.
The EP follows his appearance on the label’s second edition of the rising artists series “Advent ” for his collaboration with Nick Ledesma. “Clearer Now” has four diverse tracks with vocalist features from Exede, Meggie York, and Conor Clinch. The EP kicks off with “Judgment”, a heavy midtempo track with powerful and gritty basslines.
The remaining three tracks highlight KEPIK’s range as a melodic producer with a mix of dubstep and dance-pop elements combined with beautifully written and
performed vocals. Last year, KEPIK played a support show for Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Afterparty in addition to opening Bill Graham Civic Center for the Seven Lions & Ophelia Records Pantheon Tour.
Asian American producer and DJ Kevin Cheung, better known as KEPIK, has been expanding the boundaries of dance music since his debut in 2015. Based in San Francisco, his unique ability to seamlessly blend melodic and dark soundscapes with elements of mainstream pop has landed him on labels such as Monstercat and Armada.
With over 5 million Spotify streams from more than 150 countries, KEPIK continues to grow within the bass music subgenre with support from artists like Illenium. Past releases have garnered editorial support on Spotify’s Bass Lounge and Pixel Garden, with his biggest tracks “Be Without You” and “Jar Of Hearts” each surpassing 1 million streams across the platform.
As the official record label of melodic dubstep leader Seven Lions, Ophelia is a label that promotes independent dance music and has been the official home for his music since 2018. In just 4 years, Ophelia has become one of the hottest new labels in electronic music thanks to its tight-knit community and ability to
connect fans of melodic bass, dubstep, trance, psytrance, drum & bass, house, and beyond. With massive releases from acts such as SLANDER, Excision, Kill The Noise, MitiS, Jason Ross, NGHTMRE, Wooli, Trivecta, Blastoyz, Crystal Skies, and Last Heroes, Ophelia was voted Best Label and Compilation Album (Ophelia Volume 1) of 2019 by r/edm, has multiple #1 iTunes Dance records and sold out showcases and hosts festival stage takeovers across the country.
