Nazaar pops all the way off with his Bassrush Records debut single, “Overclocked.”

The Arab-Pakistani producer known as Nazaar, who is based out of Texas, is ready to test the limits with his latest creation, a red-lining beast of a bass track. Soaring out on the back of cinematic chords and traditional vocals with ties to his heritage, the energy quickly starts to ramp up through the introduction of dramatic strings and 808 drum rolls. The whole vibe shifts underneath your feet, though, as soon as a barrage of bottom-end and shrilling, aggressive synths come down in full force. Hyped vocal stabs fill the spaces in-between the heavy bass, while the energy pulls back for a brief moment, before crashing back down again.

“‘Overclocked’ was the product of an extremely long studio session,” says Nazaar. “I was messing around trying new things, and I ended up stumbling upon a sound combo that piqued my interest, which is the main lead you hear in the drop. This song was intended to be an absolute banger from start to finish—to encourage you to go your absolute hardest at all times, and fuck the restraints.”

The track holds a special place in Nazaar’s heart because it is connected loosely to his debut performance with Insomniac at Valentine’s Day-themed massive Crush San Francisco. It was the last gig he pulled off until quarantine came into play, and he hopes “this track channels all that energy into something we could all use right now.”

He first appeared on the Bassrush radar, when the crew locked down a premiere of his filthy genre-blurring single “Jinn,” which has since amassed 2.7M streams on Spotify. Outside of this new single, Nazaar has churned out a solid list of releases for credible camps, such as Never Say Die, Excision Music, Heavyweight Records, and more.
