Nostalgix welcomes you into her stellar world; ‘Star City’.
The 5-track ‘Star City’ EP out on the esteemed dance label Monstercat, shows Nostalgix in her highest form – empowering, sassy, loud, and unstoppable all while delivering the highest octane bass house sounds around town.
The EP features collaborations with vaunted rap star Rico Nasty, UK MC Scrufizzer, Southside Diddy and DEV, best known for her work with The Cataracs. Previously released singles “WAR,” which followed with an energetic remix from speed house producer CHYL, and “Lockdown” are accompanied by new tracks “Need You,” a bold and bouncing track featuring Nostalgix’s own rapping, “DEMONS (feat. Southside Diddy), a gritty and loud production with duet-style rap verses, and finally “Real Girls (Feat. DEV), a sassy and audacious girl anthem featuring rapping from both powerhouse artists.
In her words;
“Star City is the evolution of Nostalgix.
I’ve spent the last 6 years of my life finding my voice as an artist and perfecting my sound. It hasn’t been an easy road. I’ve always fought for what I’ve believed in and worked insanely hard to make it happen. With ‘Star City’ I feel like all of the efforts I’ve made, all of the countless hours I’ve spent alone on my laptop making music, or the hours I’ve put into film production and design and everything I’ve learned are coming together in one project…
Making this EP has been one of the best experiences I’ve had as an artist. I’ve never gotten to do a project this big, with this much time and detail going into it…I’ve also been super blessed to work with some other really talented artists to bring this vision to life. It’s been such an incredible process working with the talented Rico Nasty, DEV, Scrufizzer, and Southside Diddy on vocals for the EP.
‘Star City’ is a world for those who aren’t fully accepted by the real world. A world that accepts everyone for who they are and for who they aspire to be. A world where pain does not exist and hurt is turned to self empowerment…Ain’t nothing getting in the way of us living our best lives. It’s our world, we get to be who we wanna be, dress how we wanna dress, and we’re gonna live it up!
I’ve always had to push through boundaries, and break other people’s limitations on me. I’ve always fought for self expression and put myself out there to be my most authentic self no matter how terrifying it can be. Regardless of what others have said or thought about me, I have always believed in my vision and fought to make it a reality. I created ‘Star City’ to empower others to do the same.”
To celebrate the release of the EP, Nostalgix and Monstercat are organizing an exclusive music performance bus tour for her dedicated fans. Participants will embark on a scenic drive through Los Angeles, accompanied by Nostalgix herself as she plays tracks from her EP and they explore the city’s landmarks. Fans, media and industry professionals alike are invited to join in the festivities and celebrate the EP’s release. For media attendance inquiries, RSVP to [email protected].
Nostalgix’s space in the dance music scene has truly exploded over the years, as the producer has launched herself into orbit among her idols and mentors.
