Los Angeles based artists Orly Gal and Sleepy Cat drop a new collaborative raw and hypnotic techno EP via new record label, HDDNSYMBLS.
HDDNSYMBLS is a label that was recently set up by Orly Gal and following its debut in November 2022, the record label is back with its second instalment.
Both of the label’s releases have orientated around Orly Gal’s original music and her collaboration with Sleepy Cat continues that trend.
Prior to this release, Sleepy Cat has only released a small handful of tracks, but Orly Gal has been building a solid back catalogue of music including releases on record labels such as Ushuaia Music and Kaiserdisco’s KD RAW.
“Money Breaks” is first of the EP’s three tracks and it’s a dark and intense cut with ominous synths and eerie atmosphere fused with high-velocity percussion rhythms. Next up is “Sahara” which lifts the energy with driving percussion that provides a rigid framework for the lead synth’s industrial undertones. “Confusion” wraps up the package with its rapid-fire percussion and granular sound design which adds an abrasive edge to this weapon of a track.
Overall, it’s a great package for those who like atmospheric techno that’s both darker and aggressive.
