Emerging French producer, Sara Costa continues to take her groove into the new year. After releasing her new single, Watch Me Dance in late 2017 with the soulful Opé Smith, Sara is now ready to share the accompanying video on her birthday!
Born into a family of musicians, Sara Costa was destined to follow a musical path, learning cello, piano and attending orchestral class at the age of eight. A desire to DJ in her teens, Sara Costa propelled herself behind the decks and into the world of DJing. She then secured a residency at one of Lyon’s most prominent clubs L’Imprévu” and continued to perform across Europe. In 2017, Watch Me Dance followed on from Sara’s debut single and chill house production, Sirop which reached 2+ million streams. An impressive boost for her musical breakthrough, it’s certain Sara Costa is destined for an even brighter year ahead.
The new Watch Me Dance video lets Sara delve back into her roots, taking place in her home town of Lyon. Various groups of dancer’s pop and lock across the city as Sara and Opé embark on a mission to reach their dancefloor destination. Sara explains her creative vision for the video and showcasing Lyon’s talents: “It was important to me to film there, one scene is recorded at UCPA DJ School where I learnt all the knowledge I know now. In the end, the message is: Whatever happens, whatever we say or think, we don’t care about your negativity, we are moving forward doing what we love!”
The video debut allows the fresh, yet savvy and proficient producer to transform Watch Me Dance into a funky, nu-disco masterpiece. Perfectly demonstrating her vision for the new single, Sara Costa is now extremely excited to share the new video with the world on her birthday!
