Olafur Arnalds is a legend indeed. Every track that comes out from the Icelandic producer’s studio is a beautifully complex piece of art. So, when it comes down to remixing such an intricate piece of music from such an illustrious artist, it definitely comes with a lot of responsibility and of course high expectations. Bangalore based deep house and progressive virtuoso, Praveen Achary, took up the strenuous task of remixing “So Far” and he has emerged triumphant.
The track starts off on a mellow note aiming to maintain the same façade as the original. The beauty of this remix lays in the fact that it does stray away quite from the original, yet doesn’t deviate too drastically, hence maintaining the essence of the original. Praveen layers the track with a deep beat that brings on a state of relaxation and calmness. The delicately laced vocals fit in perfectly, not distracting one majorly from the enigmatic strings in the background.
Considering the track has received the remix treatment from Guy Mantzur earlier, this version, unlike Guy’s is short, crisp and clean which jumps in straight with a short intro, and advances straight into the body of the track. All in all, we definitely can vouch for the fact that Praveen has done a phenomenal job with this one. Do give it a listen and experience it for yourself!
