Canadian record producer/DJ and boss of ‘mau5trap’ records, deadmau5 went all techno with his techmau5 set at his BBC 1 Radio residency.
deadmau5 fans were treated to 2 hours of pure techno during his penultimate residency on the show.
Generally, we see artists bring in guests or feature new tracks during special shows. But no, it isn’t Zimmer’s way of making a statement. All he wanted was 2-hours of non-stop, no non-sense music. He played a flawless mix of tracks from artists such as C.O.Z., Dubfire, Green Velvet, Riva Starr and Shiba San to name a few. He also dropped tracks from mau5trap’s very own Budd and Frost. However, missing from the mix were tracks from deadmau5’s own techno project ‘testpilot’.
“I wanted a full 2 hours to myself”, said deadmau5. “Tonight’s all about as much good music as we can cram in.”
Well isn’t that the case always with the Canadian producer?
“We are gearing up for something special”, he said referring to the final episode of his residency.
About 2 weeks back the ‘mau5 helmeted producer’ confirmed on Twitter that his new album will be out in 2018, most likely around spring. Let’s hope that he gives us a sneak peak of his unreleased tunes during the last episode of his BBC Radio 1 residency. Watch out for the last episode!
