Ushering in their first original record of the year, four-piece digital band Anamanaguchi today debuted on Monstercat with the synth-driven single, “Water Resistant” featuring experimental pop artist, 8485.

Showcasing their signature hyper-nostalgic sound, the single’s lyricism finds parallels to “Digital Love” in its longing to awaken from a dream state and feel new again. As sought-after musicians for video game compositions, “Water Resistant” makes for the perfect lead single off the forthcoming Soundtrack to the new free mobile game from Psyonix, Rocket League Sideswipe, which launched its Pre-Season yesterday in Oceania.

Ary Warnaar of Anamanaguchi shares, “For this 🚧 project 🚧, we imagined all ️4 of us rolling up to the club 😍🍾🎉💯 in a Rocket League car🚨🏎🚨, opening all the doors at the same time⏰, and a track blasting from the speakers🔊📢🥵. The result was a proper🔥hot wheels💥 arena 🏟GOOOOAAAALLL⚽ bass 🎸 core tune with the amazing🤯🏆 vocal feature🎤🤝 from 8485❗”

The band has firmly established themselves as figures in the gaming space, having also provided the soundtrack to this year’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World game. For the first time ever, they’ll embark on a Scott Pilgrim vs.

The World tour, performing the full video game soundtrack live starting January 2022 across Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more dates to be announced. Thereafter, they’ll make their way to Europe in May, hitting venues like Melkweg and O2 Academy.

Following up a string of 2020 summer singles including their latest, “Stay Home,” Anamanaguchi recently reworked Dorian Electra’s acclaimed album title-track, “My Agenda” and will have new music dropping on Monstercat soon.
