Being a permanent fixture in the Anjunabeats calendar since, he has also produced a #3 US Billboard album with Above & Beyond. The Anjunabeats Worldwide 08 compilation is now mixed by Oliver Smith featuring the likes of Mat Zo, Arty, iLan Bluestone and a lot more!
The showcase feature 17 tracks, including 9 exclusive originals, a collaboration with Above & Beyond Acoustic vocalist Natalie Homes and also sees a comeback of his deep alias, Meramek.
As the mix begins with the collaboration with Amy J Pryce on ‘Lovingly’- a Meramek remix, the gauge slowly dives into the enchanting and feel-good ‘Foundation’. Moving ahead into Spencer Brown remix of the iLan Bluestone hit ‘Will We Remain?’ feat. Maor Levi and El Waves, the mix takes a truly upward curve in terms of the energy it exudes. Dropping down to the hard-hitting ‘Tube Hearts’ by Kyau & Albert, which features a clean blend of energetic high and blissfulness.
Mat Zo is back to his ancestral home, Anjunabeats, as he features on this mix with ‘Meaning Lost All Words’ which has a power-packed production with an insightful artistic flavour. Following that are the addictive tracks, ‘I Know’ and ‘Freefall’ by Oliver Smith himself which exude an incredibly euphoric feeling, making you want to smile wide! Audien is back on the label with his track featuring Cecilia Gault ‘Higher’ gets featured on this mix. The beautifully soothing track is a great add on to this mix.
Oliver Smith draws you into his production prowess with ‘Follow Me’ which is a bouncy track coupled with a raw feel uplifted by the bass works on it. ‘Java’ proves to soothe one and all, and ‘Atacama’ comes back to pull you into its vintage vibe. ‘Flat Six’ by Nitrous Oxide is a mix that you would expect this epic compilation should have, as it clearly brings in a bright flavour to the setting.
‘Over You’ rises up in an enchanting manner to clearly show you the diversity in Oliver’s production. Sunny Lax & Aneym’s ‘Counter Clockwise’ sets itself a high distinction in this pack for sure. The mix euphorically ends with ‘Zero’ by Oliver Smith & Natalie Holmes, ‘Mr. H2O’ by Genix and Oliver’s remix of ‘January Embers’ by My Friend feat. Lauren L’aimant.
