England’s jackLNDN was candidly unreserved in his 2019 sophomore album “Thoughts.”
The deep house producer opened up about his year of introspection, a side fans rarely see in his typical upbeat productions. As a follow-up, he has entrusted none other than fellow Brits Fluida (Anjunadeep, Get Physical, Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried) and Frameworks (Emancipator’s Loci Records, First Word) to remix “With You” and “Unknown.” Fluida’s was released on December 13, while Frameworks is set for January 10.
Fluida brings a driving, Latin groove to “With You.” The duo transformed the track into something more suited for a daytime soirée: vocals were chopped, drums were layered and they proceeded to get splashy with cymbals. “The snippet of the piano really helped set the vibe, and there was a softness to the texture of Jack’s voice which we sprinkled throughout the track to help keep things intimate,” the pair says of their rendition.
Frameworks’ signature downtempo soundscapes grace “Unknown.” The iteration lends the listener a moment of blissful meditation. Known for his warm blossoming strings and pulsing bass, it’s a refreshing change of pace from the percussion-heavy, made-for-the-playa original.
The two remixes are intended to keep fans warm this winter, while Jack is in the studio working on his 2020 EP.
